Valentine’s Day!

Valentine’s Day is a romantic time for all or most of us – which is why we can’t help but brag about all the fun things that happened. I don’t know how most people are these days or how romantic they are – but when it comes to holidays me and my husband love to do things up nice. We use every holiday (no matter how small) as an excuse to buy each other a gift and this holiday was no different.

The morning started off as it usually did – except that I was surprised with my favorite cappuccino drink from my husband which he dropped off to me on his way back to work. I proceeded to surprise him with a large balloon and a single red rose – which I gave to him to keep at work so everyone would know that he had someone special who loved him.

Because we couldn’t find a babysitter we chose not to go out to eat – but rather rented a movie and brought dinner to us. Our daughter did us a favor by going to bed early and left us to eat together, cuddle in front of a movie, and were able to exchange gifts later. I was given a music CD and a movie that I have been dying to have. He was given a watch – which turned out to be the wrong style so now I have to return it in hopes I can get the right one this time.

The whole night I thought that he had forgotten to get me the traditional flower arrangements and chocolates that I had come to expect to see every year at this time. I had been bragging about it all week and was excited to receive them. Yet, when it was almost over and no sign of them appeared I resigned myself to the fact that he had actually forgotten.

Lucky for me (and him) I was wrong. He had brought them home earlier and had waited till the last minute to surprise me with them. He had even bought some roses for our daughter. All in all it was a day to remember!
