‘Dan In Real Life’ Movie Review

'Dan In Real Life' StillWe all know that Steve Carell is a down right funny guy from his role in ‘The Office’ and ‘Evan Almighty’. So why should this movie be any different? ‘Dan In Real Life’ is not a crazy, stupid comedy where everything is a joke (and a bad one at that). It is the kind of comedy that has a hidden message. The jokes are hidden among the gentle and heart warming scenes.

The film follows Dan, a widower with three daughters, to a family gathering at his parents’ rambling vacation home in Rhode Island. His encounter with a woman leads to quite a bit of awkwardness. It turns out that she is the new girlfriend of Dan’s bachelor brother, Mitch, and she’s joining the clan for the weekend. (more…)
