‘Harry Potter And The Order Of The Pheonix’ Movie Review

OOTP PosterStarring: Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Ralph Fiennes, Gary Oldman, and Alan Rickman.

Synopsis: It’s Harry Potter’s 5th year at Hogwarts and things are only getting worse. After spending the summer in silence and almost getting expelled from Hogwarts, Harry is not a happy teenage boy. He is hoping that returning to Hogwarts would make things better, but things are changing there as well.

With the ministry refusing to beleive that “He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named’ is back, Harry finds himself being shunned by fellow students and a teacher who is seeking to change the whole school. Harry must learn how to stand up to his fears, be a leader, and learn to fight when it is needed of him.

Review: So the movie was not good, but not as good as I had hoped. For any of you who have read the books you will see some discrepancies, which I suppose was expected. The actors are doing a much better job, so in that they get thumbs up.

The fault lies with the director. Honestly if I hadn’t read the book I would have been confused as to what was going on. The movie was crammed and not one thing was focused on. The director failed to answer most questions that people wanted to know about the plot, which is kind of important.

He also focused on things that weren’t too important and didn’t focus enough on the things that were important. Action scenes which I was looking forward to became nothing when played out on the screen because it was so brief. And for any of you who were looking forward to getting to know Moody, Lupin, and Tonks(a new character, but big one in the books) even more, be in for a dissapointment. You barely see them and they barely talk.

WARNING! (don’t read on if you haven’t read the books or watched the movies) Also I have to say that this was the saddest book for me to read because it is the one where Sirius is killed by Bellatrix. In the movie it happened so fast and then was over so fast that it doesn’t give you time to proccess exactly what happened.

I would still recommend that you go and see the movie and I still like it, but as for it being the best movie of them all….I wouldn’t rate it that high. To solve this problem they need to stop changing directors. They need to bring Alfonso back, his was the best movie!
